Question No. 06 1 min read

Does a retaining wall need a permit?

Under the Ontario Building Code, a retaining wall over 1 m of exposed height next to public property, a building access, or property the public uses needs a building permit and engineered drawings. Lower walls still need drainage stone behind them to last. See retaining walls.
