Etobicoke's south end – Long Branch, New Toronto, and Mimico, all independent lakeshore municipalities until 1967 – carries compact prewar lots where front walks and small drives dominate the work. The Kingsway and the streets around it bring 1920s-30s homes with wider frontages and owners who usually want natural stone accents and conservative patterns that suit the architecture. North of Eglinton the postwar subdivisions take over, and the jobs become classic full driveway replacements. Three markets, one base standard.
